2021 Company & Industry Highlights

For the yearend review, we’ve added up some of the major happenings of the year. 2021 made for an exciting year - with no shortage of changes and updates from our company and from the industry. Let’s dig in!

The SSL Store Updates

Security Solution Manager - To help streamline operations for resellers, we launched a self-service SSL management tool. From the Security Solution Manager, end-users can manage their TLS/SSL certificate lifecycles. Whether you’re integrated with us or not, Security Solution Manager has a use case for everyone.
WHMCS Plugin Updated to v4.2 - As recent as November, our WHMCS plugin received updates, now allowing for DCV scoping, an improved AutoInstall process and various bugs fixed. If you haven’t updated your plugin yet, now’s the time to catch up!
Favorites in Reseller Control Panel - Back in April, we launched a new “Favoriting” feature in the dashboard to help you stay organized with your product selection.
Faster Issuance for OV/EV - New dashboard tools allow you to submit an organization and complete the validation process before you’ve purchased your certificate - See video demo here. You can view, manage and add new organizations using the tool directly from your user account here.

Industy Updates

Code Signing Certificates Key Size Increase - The CA/B Forum increased the minimum key requirement for publicly trusted code signing and time-stamping certificates to 3072-bit RSA which went into effect June 1, 2021.
Domain Control Validation (DCV) for Wildcard Certificates - With another CA/B Forum update, file-based wildcard validation went away during the month of November. As an alternative, users can use DNS or email validation for wildcard SSL certificates.
Multi-Year Plans Turned 1 Year Old - Last year, Muti-year Plans were introduced to help sellers and buyers recoup what was lost when SSL certificate lifespans were shortened to a one-year max. With Multi-year Plans, sellers can enjoy more revenue upfront with longer customer retention while customers can enjoy bulk-buying discounts and streamlining SSL purchasing.
